Mapping Terrain Through Scent

On going Field Research

Continuing investigations of natural resources to build connections between people and their sense of place. Traveling to the Pacific Northwest, Mid-Atlantic, and New England states, making hydrosols, aromatic waters, to map terrain from wild-foraged plants and dirt. The process of making hydrosols has allowed me to engage with locals who have participated in the making of the hydrosols, sharing stories of local typography, collectively wild harvesting, distilling, and participating in ephemeral scent encounters.
