When Grace is Nourishment, 2012

sculptural installation: photograph, garlic stems, hay, sound

6’ x 8’ x 4’

Garlic is planted, harvested, cured, processed and consumed. Inspired by this cycle, stems are sewn into a garland and hung adjacent to a panoramic image of the field where they were grown. Tiny hay bales are stacked beneath and emit the sound of clinking mule harnesses. When Grace is Nourishment honors the connection between the process, the stamina and the tangible products of field work.
